What is Measure N?

Measure N is a parcel tax passed in 2014 that provides approximately $12 million annually to the Oakland Unified School District and to Oakland charter high schools. This parcel tax will sunset in 2024.  

 

What can Measure N funds be used for?

Measure N funds can be used for any of the following purposes:

  • Reduce the drop-out rate
  • Provide high school  students with real-world work and learning opportunities
  • Prepare students for admission to the University of California and other four-year colleges
  • Expand mentoring, tutoring, counseling, support services, and transition to job training programs

 

The majority of Measure N funding goes to developing high-quality career pathways in Oakland high schools.

 

When does the Measure N Commission meet?

The Commission meets every first and third Tuesday at 5:00 PM in the KDOL TV Studio, B-237 (314 East 10th Street, Oakland, CA 94606-2291).
